Investigation of bioplastics has only led me to see single-used items or low-value designs; that is how bioplastics are mostly perceived nowadays - fast, single used and characterless.
The Bioflora goal was to explore ways to include natural flowers/plants in a biomaterial and challenge the perception of bioplastics. The main question was how bioplastics of the future can not only be sustainable but also aesthetically pleasing.
To achieve the effect, the algae, red cabbage, and coleus plant was used.
